SUNDAY BRUNCH at SKY BAR, TRADERS HOTEL

SUNDAY BRUNCH at SKY BAR, TRADERS HOTEL

12 noon to 3pm

RM 148 ++ per person – Unlimited cocktails and beer with set lunch

It was a bright and sunny Sunday morning when I hopped in my car and made the pleasant drive over to Traders Hotel KL. Theresa Goh (Communications Manager) had invited us over for (what would be my second time) Sunday Brunch at Sky Bar.  It was Terry’s first time, so you could say he was a ‘virgin’, unlike the cocktails that the bar staff mixes up. Those babies pack power in every sip!

I love it up there.

You can choose to sit on the ’solid’ side of the pool, on stools by the bar, or in the sunken booths with panoramic views of the city.

IMG_1567

I’m always amazed by the view of the city from the 33rd floor.

Everything looks so beautiful, and peaceful, and organized. I let myself relish in my little fantasy for the 3 hours we were there. The staff are dressed to the nines in special Traders Hotel/WWF T-shirts, in different designs.

Being a ‘Monkey’ myself, I thought it only appropriate to purchase one for myself at RM35.

All proceeds (minus cost) go to WWF. All for a good cause!

Terry and I were on a mission. To try as many of the dishes on the menu as we could.

IMG_1568

Oh, and the cocktails, of course. I have to say, when you do go for the brunch, clear your schedule for the rest of the day. You’ll need the rest. And don’t worry about getting the menu’s wet. They float!

IMG_1554

I started off with a caipirinha, a yummy mix of cachaça, lime, sugar and crushed ice.

IMG_1559

Terry went for a Margherita, a delicious blend of ice, tequila, lime served in a glass laced with salt.

IMG_1558

The food started circulating at about 1pm, and by that point we were starving. I mean, look at the menu.

IMG_1551

A long list of snacky stuff, mini-food, just the way I like it. Theresa managed to slip Terry a Lychee Martini, of course, with little complaint from him.

IMG_1569

We grabbed whatever waiter we could see hoisting plates of food, and began chomping and slurping down mini chicken burgers, cali maki rolls, grilled king prawns and so much more.

I recommend bring a swimsuit, jumping in the pool to cool off, as it does get a little warm in the sunshine.

Alternatively, you can do what we did and stick to the extra cold cocktails. Don’t forget to try the complimentary 15 min head and shoulder massage! Oh, the perfect way to ease those stresses way.

Just before we left we were graced with the presence of Traders Hotel’s new Executive Sous Chef.

Previously of the Lafite fame in Shangri la Hotel, Canadian born Chef Damon Campbell is settling in nicely to his new role at Traders.

Terry and I left very happy, a little woozy, and with big smiles on our faces. What a way to spend our Sunday. Remember to clear your schedule for the rest of the day!

Thank you Theresa for a wonderful afternoon!
